Family Forward NC® is an innovative initiative to improve children’s health and well-being and keep North Carolina’s businesses competitive. It is employer-led change to increase access to research-based, family-friendly practices — big and small — that improve workplace productivity, recruitment and retention; grow a strong economy; and support children’s healthy development. The National Women’s Law Center fights for gender justice, working across the issues that are central to the lives of women and girls. They use the law in all its forms to change culture and drive solutions to the gender inequity that shapes our society and to break down the barriers that harm all of us—especially women of color, LGBTQ people, and low-income women and families. Explore their policy suggestions and research around childcare, equal pay and the wage gap, as well as poverty and income security. 

FreeFrom is a feminist national organization led by queer, trans, im/migrant, and BIPOC survivors whose mission is to end gender-based violence by building economic freedom and safety with survivors. 

Explore their National Survivor Financial Security Policy Map and Scorecard. This scorecard acts as both a resource and a roadmap for action. The map outlines the existing laws impacting a survivor’s ability to build and maintain financial security, and provides state-specific policy recommendations that will ensure that all survivors have access to the financial resources and support they need to thrive and live free from abuse. 

National Partnership for Women and Families works to improve the lives of women and families by achieving equality and equity for all women. Their strategies include policy research and analysis; technical assistance to policymakers, media, and allies; leadership and participation in diverse coalitions and stakeholder relationships; public education, and public engagement. Of their many areas of focus, they advance public policies that promote economic justice and workplace equity throughout women’s lives. 

PCADV is Pennsylvania’s state coalition against domestic violence. They envision a world that honors the human right to live healthy, stable, and rewarding lives free from intimate partner violence and all forms of violence and oppression. This vision includes improving the social conditions that prevent long-term independence and safety through comprehensive domestic violence program advocate training and the continual development of tools and resources that address the barriers to economic stability and safety. To achieve this goal, The Economic Justice and Empowerment Initiative focuses on providing advocates with the tools and resources to help survivors access education, develop budgeting skills, repair credit, build savings, find affordable housing and gain meaningful employment.
